Introduction
This project was completed during my RA position at Peking University and focuses on data visualization. The primary goal is to interpret a single historical corpus from different storytelling perspectives, analyzing design changes and historical development through three eras, nine products, and four viewpoints. Additionally, this project employs an interactive, gamified approach to facilitate cultural dissemination and engage a broader audience in uncovering its underlying insights
Design Process
Starting from the initial narrative of objects, we developed a story framework, structured it, and expanded perspectives. This process culminated in the creation of a prototype through various organizational forms. On this preliminary foundation, gamified interactions were incorporated to enhance story comprehension.
Design details

- Geographical perspective: Chinese city map
- Character perspective: a story of typical Chinese family
- Object perspective: one object’s connection with different people
- Design perspective: design peremeters and details
Interation game
This project incorporates two interactive games aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of information delivery through user interaction.
- Game1: By simulating the setting of a watch store, the project allows users to match brands with their places of production.
- Game2: The project disassembles the components of a sewing machine, allowing users to assemble it themselves to understand its structure.
